Pirate101 November 2014 Monthly Newsletter

Thankful for our fans!

We had a fun October, and now it’s time to take our decorations down as we head into November and the holiday season. In October we celebrated turning two years old and everyone was rewarded as we surprised our fans with contests, giveaways, and more! November is a time to remember – we honor the sacrifices of our bravest for Veteran’s Day and celebrate our families and the harvest for Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for here at KingsIsle because our players continue to make this game a great experience for all!

Rogue's Gallery: Calamity Jane

Cool Ranch is a big place and wild enough that legends can be born from the most humble of beginnings. Calamity Jane is definitely one of those legends. She’s a great shot and a true heroine, but we don’t know much about where she came from. Here’s a little insider info that you may not have known.

“Welcome to the Pirate101 Rogue’s Gallery. Subject, Calamity Jane

Born into a family of humble farm birds Back East, young Jane Canary yearned for the un-simple life. She left her homestead at an early age, but seemed destined to a life of drudgery: over the next year Jane worked as a dishwasher, a cook, a hired hand, a nurse, and an ox team driver. Finally, during the “War Between the Flocks”, she joined the army and found work as a scout at Fort McMurtry. In almost no time, she and the army discovered just what an amazing shot she was with a rifle.

Jane gained her nickname and fame when a troop she was escorting was ambushed. Jane saw the Captain reeling in his saddle as though about to fall. She turned her horse around and galloped back with all haste to catch him as he was falling and succeeded in getting him safely to the Fort. Captain Egan, on recovering, laughingly said: 'I name you Calamity Jane, the heroine of the plains”

After War’s end, Jane hired herself out as a caravan guard, defending Wagon Trains of settlers exploring the New Territories of Cool Ranch. On one of these runs she met a fellow adventurer, the famous Bison fighter and daredevil Wild Bill Peacock. It was love at first sight. The two achieved a fair amount of fame before fate led them to team up with the earnest Law Bird Wyatt Chirp. That stroke of fortune led Jane to become part of one of the greatest Legends of Cool Ranch: The Magnificent Seven!

These pirates and more await you when you play for free at Pirate101.com.”

KI Live!

On the 14th of October, we held our second KI Live event, and this time it was centered on all things Pirate101, with a special look at Halloween-themed items, Hoodoo Bundle giveaways, and a look at the final fight in the Tower of Moo Manchu.
We appreciated all of the support from the Community at the event. Check these links for more reactions from our fans:

Armored Scorpion Mount Giveaway

As a part of our Halloween Birthday celebration Pirate101 partnered with MMORPG.com to giveaway a ton of never before seen Armored Scorpion Mounts. This was just a trial version of the real mount that will eventually make its way to our Crown Shop. Our fans gave us some great feedback -Giveaway on the mount, and it sounds like it’s definitely something you’d be interested in seeing a permanent version of.

As a bonus fun surprise, we gathered up the fans and convened on Scorpion Rock in Cool Ranch for a “hopping” good time.

As it turns out there are still a good number of free rental mounts left at MMORPG.com! If you missed it, there’s still time!
