The Shroom XC Part 1

Opening Statement

by Superchao (Talk)
Greetings, 'Shroom readers! For once, I have multiple bits of news.
-First of all, after over two solid years as Pipe Plaza director, Paper Yoshi (Talk) is leaving his position. His Co-Director, Yoshi876 (Talk), will become the full Pipe Plaza Director from here on out.
-And in an odd mirror to the above, GBAToad (Talk) has stepped down as co-Spotlight Manager, leaving Yoshi876 fully in charge of that as well. An unprecedented scenario, to be sure.
I'd like to thank both Paper Yoshi and GBAToad for all their 'Shroom work, and wish them the very best from here on out. Thanks for all you did, guys.
Additionally, the Awards Director Election is this month, and we have a Feedback Survey. Go ahead and check them out, along with our various awards special sections! Also, you may notice our Sub-Teams have gained new banners. All credit for those goes to Hypnotoad (Talk), who made them for the Favorite Team award this year. As part of the Awards Issue, the banners made for the awards are now our new banners.

The 'Shroom Spotlight

Hellooooooo 'Shroom readers, Welcome to this month's edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! I'm fairly certain you know the drill by now, so let's jump right into it and begin reviewing last month's focuses, mmkay?
Last month, as usual, we tasked our readers with improving six less-than-stellar articles on the wiki, but unfortunately, only two of those articles were significantly improved. Our stub focus, Jet Wario, was completely rewritten by our resident dragon-fanatic DragonFreak (Talk) and our trivia focus, Lord Crump, had a substantial amount of trivia incorporated into the main article thanks to Time Turner (Talk) and our co-spotlight manager himself, Yoshi876 (Talk)! As always, thank you everyone who contributed, let's strive for more input as we tackle another six focuses this month. Take it away, Yoshi876!
Thanks, Yoshi876. No, I certainly wasn't forcing myself to laugh at those descriptions, stop staring at me.
Anyway, as of this month, I've decided to resign from co-writing the 'Shroom Spotlight, so this will be my last time signing off. Writing the Spotlight and being part of the Core 'Shroom Staff for the past nine months has been fun, and while it's sad to leave, I'm sure that Yoshi876 will do a fantastic job maintaining the Spotlight by himself. Starting this month, be sure to contact him from now on if you have any questions, comments or concerns, or leave a message in the dedicated forum thread and he'll be sure to respond. Keep on editing, everyone. Ciao!

Editorial

Hello, and welcome back to the Fake News! First of all, I'd like to thank Hypnotoad (Talk) for the new banner at the top of this section. It was included in his Awards presentation for S2: Favourite Team. You know, that award the Fake News won? Remember? How I wo- I mean, uh, how we won?
In terms of staff changes, Lord Bowser (Talk) has been fired from writing the Monthly Inquisition due to inactivity.
August's section of the month went to Yoshi876 (Talk) and the Obituaries, with 20 votes! Congratulations!

Kirby
The deceased
The Mushroom Kingdom, huh? Wrong place? Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Dream Land was struck by tragedy as its hero, Kirby, died from a heart attack after learning that he had won A19: Favourite Smash Bros. character; it also didn’t help that he had large amounts of cholesterol in his system, those Waddle Doos, and Waddle Dees, and Bronto Burts, and Cappies, and Plasma Wisps, and Knuckle Joes are nightmares on that front.
A nightmare for the body, and quite spicy too
The citizens of Dream Land went into a deep mourning, apart from King Dedede who was delighted that he no longer needed another monster to clobber that there Kirby. Meta Knight was asked to comment, but we were informed that he had been banned from commenting as his comments put others to shame. Other citizens rejoiced at this turn of events as they no longer had to worry about Kirby coming along and eating them. Various Smash Bros. competitors expressed deep sadness at the loss of one of their combatants, most notably Jigglypuff, when we went for a comment she just sang and I felt incredibly sleepy. When I awoke she was gone, and my face had been drawn on, in permanent marker.
In the aftermath, King Dedede and Meta Knight have been removed from Smash Bros. as they no longer have the star of their series, King Dedede was vocally annoyed at this. The population of Dream Land has also been on the rise now that their largest predator has been taken out of the food chain. However, this has had a negative effect as it has allowed Dream Land to create a large enough army to take over neighbouring kingdoms, and I now owe King Dedede my salary, luckily the joke’s on him, I don’t get one.
